In 2017, Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee released Despacito and it topped the charts for most streamed songs in just 6 months. This mix of reggaeton and pop music did not just draw interest back to the genre, but as well to Latin music generally. Billboard's Top 100 in 2015 had two songs mostly of Spanish languages, while the year in 2016 there were four. Despacito's popularity Despacito reached its peak in the year 2017. In 2020 the year 2020, 41 mainly Spanish songs will be included in the top 100. After Justin Bieber's remix in two languages Despacito (2017), a number of bilingual remixes Despacito (2017) well-known artists soon began collaborating with reggaeton musicians, such as Drake and Bad Bunny on MIA (2018) and Madonna and Maluma in Medellin (2019). A few performers of reggaeton lamented the trend towards popular music by 2020. A new group, Rauw Alejandro was determined to keep the growth and evolution of reggaeton. The genre often included elements of electronic dance music and other styles.
