AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco (American professional soccer player) plays as an attacking player. She is also the captain of San Diego Wave FC of National Women's Soccer League, the highest level of professional women's soccer. From 2018 until 2020, she served as co-captain for the US women's national soccer team alongside Megan Rapinoe. [8][98][9] Morgan was drafted by the Western New York Flash at the number one spot in the 2011 WPS Draft. She had completed her studies at Berkeley in the early part of the year. Morgan also played for California Golden Bears. The team made her debut in professional football and helped the team win the league championship. Morgan was 22 at the time and the youngest member of the national team for the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team came in second. At the 2012 London Olympics Morgan scored the game-winning goal in the 123rd minute in the semi-final against Canada. She finished 2012 with 21 goals and 28 assists and Mia Hamm was the only American woman to score both 20 and 20 goals. She was the sixth-youngest U.S. player ever to reach 20 goals in one season. The following year, she was awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Athlete of Year and was a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan played a role in helping the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. She was selected for the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
